- Strong winds over Lake St. Clair
- Increased wave action, storm surge, possible shoreline erosion
- Elevated water levels
Residents along the Lake St. Clair shoreline in the Mitchell’s Bay and Walpole Island First Nation areas may experience elevated water levels due to storm surge, increased wave action and possible shoreline erosion. Water levels in the Sydenham River at Wallaceburg may also become elevated due to backflow from strong winds.
Individuals are reminded to avoid the shoreline and flooded areas due to dangerous conditions, slippery banks and cold, swift moving water. Children and pets should be kept away from the water.
The Conservation Authority continues to monitor watershed conditions and will issue advisories to municipalities and media should flood issues arise.
Municipal emergency response staff and road superintendents should monitor local conditions closely.
