The St. Clair Region Conservation Authority (SCRCA) is seeking public comment on their draft Conservation Lands Strategy, required under new regulations prescribed under the Conservation Authorities Act in early 2022. The goal of the strategy is to provide a clear set of objectives which will inform decision-making related to the management of lands owned by the SCRCA.
The draft strategy was approved for public and Indigenous engagement and consultation by the Board of Directors in February 2024. The document outlines Conservation Land Management guidelines and objectives for each of the four types of conservation land classes currently owned and managed by the SCRCA: Conservation Areas Active Recreation, Conservation Areas Passive Recreation, Management Lands, and Administration Areas.
