The St. Clair Region Conservation Authority (SCRCA) has decided to cancel the 2021 Sydenham River Canoe and Kayak Race scheduled to take place on April 28th.
“It’s unfortunate that we are unable to hold the race this year, especially when we are celebrating the 60th anniversary of the SCRCA,” said Melissa Levi, Conservation Education Coordinator, “However, holding the race would not comply with the Ontario government’s emergency stay-at-home orders.”
The race is organized annually as a fundraiser to support SCRCA conservation education programs and draws between 80 and 100 participants. Donations to support Authority programs including conservation education can be made through the St. Clair Region Conservation Foundation (www.scrca.on.ca/foundation).
The SCRCA looks forward to hosting the race in 2022.
