A generous donation to the St. Clair Region Conservation Foundation will be used to improve accessibility along trails at the Strathroy Conservation Area.
Local Strathroy residents, Lynne Lawrence and Marilyn Buttery made their $10,000 donation to the Foundation on Wednesday. As frequent visitors to the local Conservation Area, Lynne and Marilyn wanted to ensure that everyone can have the opportunity to enjoy the trail system and connect with the outdoors.
“This is a tremendously generous donation,” said Duncan Skinner, President of the St. Clair Region Conservation Foundation, “The trail improvements we will be able to complete will not only benefit our community today but will also leave a lasting legacy that will serve the community for years to come.”
The donation builds upon previous donations by Lynne and Marilyn to the Foundation, a registered, charitable organization that raises funds to support the work of the St. Clair Region Conservation Authority.
The Strathroy Conservation Area is located in the heart of Strathroy and includes a 3-kilometre trail that winds through an established floodplain forest. The donated funds will be used to improve the accessibility of the trail system.
