- 25-50 mm rain received across the region in the past 24 hours
- Forecast calling for additional 50-85 mm rain today
- Water levels rising, potential for impacted roads
- Gale Wind Warning for Lakes St. Clair and Huron
- Storm surge, minor coastal flooding, possible erosion
High amounts of rainfall in a short period of time can lead to increased runoff and flash flooding, particularly in urban areas. Residents in these areas may experience ponding and/or flooding on roads should the rainfall intensity be greater than local storm drain capacity.
Water levels are beginning to rise across the watershed and are anticipated to elevate into natural floodplain areas, parks and farm fields. Soils are expected to be saturated from the rain and could contribute to ponding, increased runoff into watercourses, and possible increased erosion and seepage issues.

Residents are reminded to avoid shorelines, watercourses and flooded areas due to dangerous conditions, slippery banks and cold, swift moving water. Children and pets should be kept away from the water.
The Conservation Authority continues to monitor watershed conditions and will issue advisories to municipalities and media should flood issues arise.
Municipal emergency response staff and road superintendents should monitor local conditions closely.
