The Ontario Regulation 41/24: Prohibited Activities, Exemptions and Permits (Regulation) applies to river or stream valleys including their floodplains and slopes, wetlands and the Lake Huron shoreline.
Use Our Online Mapping Tool to help you learn if all or part of your property is regulated by the SCRCA. In some cases, not all of the areas described above may be mapped. It is important to know that the Regulation still applies, whether these areas are mapped or not. If you are unsure whether your property is regulated, contact our Planning & Regulations Staff.
If your property is within an area regulated by the SCRCA and you want to do any construction work or development activities on it, you will need a permit. Please note that additional approvals may be required from your municipality and other agencies. If you intend to apply for a permit, you can use our mapping tool to prepare a map to attach to your permit application.
Go to our Apply for a Permit page for more information on how to apply for a permit.
