- Ice plug on St. Clair River
- Potential for shoreline erosion, minor flooding
- Strong winds and freezing spray
Southwesterly winds gusting between 60-70 km/h over Lake St. Clair are anticipated to continue into this evening, becoming 50-60 km/h early overnight and continuing into Saturday evening when winds are forecasted to subside. These strong southerly winds have the potential to stack lake ice near the shoreline. Residents along the Lake St. Clair shoreline may experience shoreline erosion.
Residents are reminded to avoid shorelines, watercourses and flooded areas due to dangerous ice conditions, slippery banks and cold, swift moving water. Children and pets should be kept away from the water.
The Conservation Authority continues to monitor watershed conditions and will issue advisories to municipalities and media should flood issues arise.
Municipal emergency response staff and road superintendents should monitor local conditions closely.
